Ann is 33 years old and lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her daily life is shaped by a typically boring office job, meetings with her argumentative Jewish parents, and more or less exciting sex, including with Allen with whom she is in a long-term BDSM relationship, in which she takes on the submissive role. There is no doubt a certain redundancy and monotony. Arnow's feature-film debut comprises five chapters featuring various lovers (including Allen over and over) and rapid shifts between short scenes. In it, the director who also wrote the screenplay, took charge of the editing and played the lead, shows how Ann navigates life with laconic stoicism. She is fearless, uninhibited, unpretentious, and witty. Just like Arnow herself.
